Road construction near Stanton Hospital begins, detours in place

Access to a number of services near Yellowknife’s Stanton Hospital will be impacted over the next few months due to construction along Byrne Road.

Starting Monday, access to the hospital, medical centre, McDonald’s and Reddi Mart will be interrupted, with detours through Stanton Hospital property via Range Lake Road.

The detours were announced by Clark Builders and Bird Construction, the two companies working on the new hospital.

Construction on Byrne Road is expected to start early Monday morning and last until November.

The companies say signage will be in place but that drivers should plan ahead before visiting any of the locations listed above. Updates will be provided once regular access is restored.

Construction of the new hospital began last year and is expected to last about three years.ROAD
