Bell Canada has confirmed that cell phone coverage has been fully restored, after an disruption Thursday afternoon that led the RCMP to issue a warning about calling from cellphones.
Police issued the notice on Thursday, indicating the coverage issue may affect anyone trying to call 867-669-1111 from a cell.
RCMP had advised Yellowknife residents to call the territory’s emergency number using land lines, as calls from cell phones may not have gone through.
The department has seen numerous disruptions in recent months.
