21-year-old man missing from Dettah, last seen six days ago

Yellowknife RCMP are hoping the public can help in the search for a 21-year-old Aboriginal man who was last seen near Dettah.

Mark Lynn was last spotted on August 24, and reported missing on Sunday, August 28. Police say he was travelling on foot, and may have been in the “Lagoon” area of Dettah on the evening of August 24.

The search has not yet provided any indication of where Lynn may be, and RCMP say they have no description of the clothing he was wearing.

Mark Lynn is described as:

  • Aboriginal
  • 179 cm or 5’ 10”
  • 76 kg or 167 lbs
  • medium build
  • brown hair
  • brown eyes

It takes 25 minutes to drive from Yellowknife to Dettah via the Ingraham Trail, or under 15 minutes by ice road in winter. Roughly 200 people live in the community.
