A sacred memorial ceremony will be held in Yellowknife Tuesday night, exactly two years after the death of Faye Grandjambe.
The 30-year-old was found dead in a downtown alley on September 27, 2014. The territory’s chief coroner later revealed that she died of alcohol poisoning.
On Tuesday night, her family is inviting fellow Yellowknifers to send prayers to others who have felt the effects of addiction.
The ceremony will be held behind the Gold Range Hotel, where Grandjambe was found dead, starting at 6:30 p.m.
The family is looking for donations of wreaths and candles for the ceremony.
