Missing hunter found alive northeast of Yellowknife

A hunter who went missing Monday afternoon has been found alive according to Yellowknife RCMP.

Jean Marie Black, also known as Joe, was found in the general vicinity of Murdock Lake, east of Mackay Lake where he had last been seen.

The 65-year-old Behchoko man had been out with a group of eight hunters around noon Monday when he became separated from his group.

Black is being transported by air to Yellowknife for medical treatment.

This follows an extensive search by RCMP, community resources and private organizations in an area approximately 150 kilometers northeast of the city.
