GNWT releases Step-by-Step Medical Travel Guide

A Step-by-Step Medical Travel Guide has been released by the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (HSS).

The guide is a source of information for patients who need to travel to access health services, providing tips and tools in a 76-page document.

Hard copies of the guide will be available at clinics, health centres and hospitals across the NWT.

An electronic version is also available on the authority’s website. [pdf]

The guide recently gained some controversy for being “easy to read” for residents despite only being printed in English and French.

The document does however say that those looking for the information in a different language such as Cree, Gwich’in and Chipewyan can call the HSS System Navigator at 1-855-846-9601.
