On June 14th, ABoVE held a media tour in Yellowknife for the airplane used to analyze the environment.

ABoVE is a NASA program that is currently conducting it’s research in Alaska and Northern Canada. The program studies the impacts of environmental change on Arctic/Boreal terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems.

ABoVE stands for Arctic Boreal Vulnrability Experiement, in case you were wondering.

This is the program’s first trip back to Northern Canada in years.

NASA Chief Support Scientist, Peter Griffith, was the main “tour guide”. I had previously interviewed Peter a few weeks back when NASA announced that ABoVE would spend it’s summer in the North. Peter covered many of the same topics that we had discussed over the phone.

Walking up.

Hey, it’s NASA.
