Yellowknife RCMP seize shipment of alcohol at airport

On June 17th, Yellowknife RCMP received information that a shipment of alcohol was bound for Deline.

Deline is a dry community.

Police seized the alcohol at the North Wright Airways Terminal. During the bust, North Wright Airways also turned over other alcohol that was seized from previous shipments that were also destined to Deline.

In total, RCMP seized:

  • 27 – 375 mL bottles of vodka
  • 2 – 1.75 L bottles of vodka
  • 2 – 200 mL bottles of vodka
  • 1 – 375 mL bottle of whisky
  • 1 – 50 mL bottle of rum
  • 36 – 355 mL cans of beer
  • 12 – 355 mL cans of mixed spirits
  • 1 – 750 mL bottle of wine
  • 3 – 500 mL of repackaged vodka

The investigation is ongoing.

No charges have been laid.
