Family Liaison Unit assists families of missing and murdered Indigenous women

The NWT branch of the Native Women’s Association is now offering two locations for families of missing and murdered Indigenous women to seek help.

The organization is running two new Family Liaison Units in Yellowknife and Inuvik.

Marie Speakman, previously a Victim Service Worker with the Native Women’s Association of the NWT, is the Family Support Worker for the Yellowknife office.

“The coordinator of the Family Liaison unit will work with families to help them to get information about police investigations and coroners reports,” says Speakman. “As a Family Support Facilitator I will help families access counseling and support services.”

You can reach the Family Liaison unit at 867- 447- 3050.
