YK fire ban needs “considerable amount of rain” for lifting

Last week, the Fire Chief of Hay River told CJCD that the town’s fire ban could last until snowfall.

CJCD reached out to John Fredericks, Yellowknife’s Fire Chief, for a similar update.

We review our Fire Ban every week and will lift the ban before snow fall provided we receive a considerable amount of rain.

The details to the city/park-wide fire ban can be found here.
