Canada Summer Games: July 29-30 Recap

Not the smoothest of starts for Team NWT.

The Men’s Basketball Team was beaten handily by Quebec (124-47) and Newfoundland (108-61) this past weekend. They will get another chance at the rim, facing off against Saskatchewan today.

The only other event to take place so far for the Northwest Territories was Women’s Soccer. The NWT Women’s Soccer Team was completely outmatched by Ontario, losing 16-0 on Saturday. They then lost to Prince Edward Island 6-0 on Sunday.

Other events we have on tap: some early Track and Field. Lance Dizon will take part in a 100m heat race. Fiona Huang is scheduled for a 400m heat race. Skylar Horton, with the lone Field Athletics event, will try to Qualify in Long Jump.

Coverage is on TV, as well as online at canadagames.ca.
