The Federal Government is providing the Territory with funding for public transit, solid waste management and local roads and bridges, among other projects.
The Gas Tax Fund is distributed to each Territory and Province twice a year and comes from taxes made off of gasoline and diesel.
Hay River is getting $1,305,000 to upgrade local infrastructure, while Yellowknife will receive $5,273,000.
Other territorial projects include upgrades to the Enterprise solid waste site, the Fort Smith water treatment plant and the soccer and baseball field in Fort McPherson.

Funding will also help protect Kakisa from wildfires through a 3 year disaster mitigation project.
The NWT will receive another $7.8 million in November.
