A reminder to pet owners:
Moose FM received a call from a listener regarding their dog being taken by a coyote. The incident happened right in their backyard.
We spoke with Adrian Lizotte, Manager of Wildlife and Environment for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. He says that, when living in the North, it’s best to remain aware at all times.
“It comes down to just being both smart and safe. Keep pets on a leash when taking them for a walk, and never leave them in the yard unattended.”
The recent bear sightings near City limits should also serve as a reminder that nature is always in your backyard in the North.
