Yellowknife RCMP member faces charges of fraud

Yellowknife, NWT – A Yellowknife RCMP officer faces several charges including fraud and forgery.

Constable Nathan White was charged back on Apr. 1 but police are just telling the public about it now.

White has been suspended with pay.

All the Mounties will say about the alleged crimes is that they are the victim.

White is charged with Fraud under $5,000, Forgery and Uttering a Forged Document.

Police say they started investigating White back in April of last year.

He was actually suspended almost a year ago, and even though police admitted an officer was off the job last summer,  they refused to say why until now.

White joined the Force in 2007 and has served his entire career within the Northwest Territories, first in Tuktoyaktuk and then in Yellowknife.

He’s in court May 13th.

As this matter is now before the courts, RCMP say they will not comment further on the details of the investigation.
