Norman Wells RCMP were called in at about 1:15 p.m. on Monday, May 27th to the discovery of what appeared to be a deceased person floating in Lennie Lake approximately 35 km north of Norman Wells.
RCMP and the NWT Coroner Service attended the site and retrieved the deceased body. The identity of the person has not yet been confirmed and remains part of an on-going investigation.
A post-mortem examination has been ordered as the police continue to work together with the Coroner’s office on this investigation. At this time no further information is available for release.
