Yellowknife, NWT – Business leaders and local politicians are at the Explorer Hotel in Yellowknife over the next two days, talking territorial business and the financial direction the NWT is headed.
The NWT Chamber of Commerce Business Conference and Annual General Meeting kicked off Wednesday morning.
Yellowknifer Allen Stanzell is chamber Vice President.
“I think we celebrate what we’ve done and we set the course for the next year. The new board will have its first meeting Wednesday night and we’ll talk about our general approach. We’ll also try to add substance and intelligence to balanced conversation of issues that are important to territorial residents from a business perspective.”
Other highlights include a presentation from Mayor Mark Heyck on Yellowknife’s Economic Development Strategy.
Premier Bob McLeod is the keynote speaker Wednesday night.
