The Minister of Democratic Institutions,Maryam Monsef, will be in Yellowknife on Tuesday for a town hall meeting, as part of a cross-country tour about electoral reform.
The MP, who represents Peterborough-Kawartha, will be joined by Northwest Territories MP Michael McLeod at the Explorer Hotel from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and at the Prince of Wales Northern Hertage Centre 7:00 to 8:30pm.
Yellowknife is Monsef’s second stop on her national tour, which will see her visit every province and territory in Canada over seven weeks.

The tour is a result of a promise by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to change the way Canadians elect representatives – a vow that would see the end of the first-past-the-post voting system.
The town hall meetings are meant to gauge Canadians’ feelings on electoral reform.
