Bone fragments, other evidence found near Dettah

Bone fragments and other evidence have been discovered near Dettah, according to the RCMP.

A forensic examination has been ordered, with results often taking months or more than a year, depending on the type of analysis that is required. Police aren’t sure if the findings are related to 21-year-old Mark Lynn’s disappearance.

“RCMP are working with the NWT Coroner Service on identifying the origin of the bone fragments in determining if they are human or non-human origin,” said an RCMP press release.

Lynn has been missing since August 24, when he was last seen in the Lagoon area of Dettah.

Lynn is described as:

  • 76 kg or 167 lbs
  • medium build
