49 charges laid after guns, drugs found in vehicle

Two people are facing a total of 49 charges after five stolen handguns, cocaine and marijuana were discovered in their vehicle during a traffic stop near Enterprise.

Hay River RCMP conducted the traffic stop on Friday night.

Both the driver and passenger of the vehicle were arrested following a roadside investigation where three stolen handguns and some ammunition were discovered.

After obtaining a search warrant for the vehicle, two more stolen handguns were discovered, along with a small quantity of marijuana and a small amount of cocaine.

Both have been remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
