Several people in Yellowknife are alleging they’ve been roughed up by security guards at the Centre Square Mall.
North Star Security and Investigations took over as the security provider last week.
In an email to The Moose, RCMP spokesperson Marie York-Condon said police have received a number of complaints, though no charges are expected to be laid.
“The RCMP is aware of concerns voiced by citizens of Yellowknife regarding allegations of increased aggression in relation to the security personnel at the local mall,” said York-Cordon.

“Yellowknife RCMP will be reaching out to security companies to ensure they understand their authorities.”
