Fire on Norseman Drive in Yellowknife

A giant cloud of dark grey smoke was seen across Yellowknife on July 3rd.

A fire began sometime in the early afternoon with firefighters and RCMP officials arriving to aid and assist.

An RCMP official told Moose FM that 2 houses were the main focus:

“We arrived and it was 2 houses. There’s some damage to the sides of the surrounding 2 houses but right now [Firefighters are] trying to keep it to just the main spot.”

We reached out to any available firefighters but none were available to comment. The Incident Commander/Fire Chief was understandably too pre-occupied to comment.
