Update: External agency found for Yellowknife RCMP case

The Medicine Hat Police Service will be assisting in the investigation of a man being struck by a Yellowknife RCMP vehicle.

The incident happened on early Monday morning after a 35-year old man had reached for a moving RCMP car. He was injured in the process to the point of needing to be flown to Edmonton for treatment.

On Thursday, Yellowknife RCMP requested assistance from the public to identify a driver of a particular vehicle. It’s speculated that there may be a link to Monday’s incident.

The investigation is being led by Northwest Territories RCMP Major Crimes Unit. Once finished, the investigation will be reviewed by the Medicine Hat Police Service.
