The Medicine Hat Police Service will be assisting in the investigation of a man being struck by a Yellowknife RCMP vehicle.

The incident happened on early Monday morning after a 35-year old man had reached for a moving RCMP car. He was injured in the process to the point of needing to be flown to Edmonton for treatment.

On Thursday, Yellowknife RCMP requested assistance from the public┬áto identify a driver of a particular vehicle. It’s speculated that there may be a link to Monday’s incident.

The investigation is being led by Northwest Territories RCMP Major Crimes Unit. Once finished, the investigation will be reviewed by the Medicine Hat Police Service.
