#ShopYK Passport Program’s wheels are starting to turn

Is your business shopping spree worthy?

Business registration for the 4th annual #ShopYK Passport Program has officially kicked off. Last year, 54 businesses participated and 1616 completed passports were submitted with a value of $969 600.

For every $20 spent at a participating location, shoppers receive a stamp in their passport.  For every thirty stamps collected, participants are entered into a draw for a $3000 shopping spree at any of the registered businesses.

The City of Yellowknife says that representatives from both the City and Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce will be visiting businesses in person on August 25th to encourage owners to sign up for the #ShopYK Passport Program.

Deputy Mayor of Yellowknife, Adrian Bell, says the City and the Chamber are looking to continue their partnership on shop local initiatives.

We recognize the importance and value that local spending provides to our economy and continue to support our business community.

Businesses have until September 15th to register as one of the participating locations.

The Passport Program begins on October 11th and ends on December 4th.
