Trudeau government pushes for natural gas in the Beaufort Delta

The search for natural gas continues.

At least $467,200 is going towards a Government based study to assess the potential for natural gas in the Beaufort Delta.

The Inuvialuit Regional Corporation is leading this project that aims to find a regional energy source to replace diesel.

The Town of Inuvik currently depends on diesel from southern Canada after two natural gas wells diminished.

The upcoming Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk all season road is expected to provide more options for natural gas.

The all-season highway will open this fall.
