YK ARCC facing changes amidst lack of volunteers

The Yellowknife Artist Run Community Centre is about to change.

The YK ARCC has seen a significant drop in volunteers over the last two years.

They’ll be facing this challenge head on.

The board of directors will host what they are calling a ‘re-visioning workshop’.

Over the last year we have been running low on volunteers and the needs of the arts community appear to be changing,” says Cathie Harper, Chair of the YK ARCC Board of Directors. “We still have a very successful year round program of public art, artist residencies and exhibitions; but, there are fewer volunteers involved now. We have lots of great ideas but what we really need is more people committed to active involvement in art projects in our community.”

The public is invited to give their opinion on how the YK ARCC can better develop the local arts scene.

The event is scheduled for November 4th, from 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm in the Library Meeting Room on the second floor of the Center Square Mall.
