The Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission partnered with Ron’s Auto for a Skills Canada workshop for students.
Power Up! is an annual two-day youth conference for Grade 8 students across the Northwest Territories. It was hosted by Skills Canada NWT.
The conference taught students about possible career paths available to them.
This year had workshops at Ron’s Equipment Rental and Industrial Supply. According to the WSCC, “the WSCC’s OHS Education Specialist, and the Safety & Training Manager at Ron’s Auto, students [had] the opportunity to step into the role of Safety Officer and conduct a mock safety inspection in an active workplace.”
The conference was held earlier in the week.
