Northwestel doubles internet speed, increases internet allowance
Northwestel launches two new internet packages for Yellowknife and Whitehorse.
Northwestel is launching two new internet packages.
Beginning today, residents of Yellowknife and Whitehorse will be able to sign up for Internet 250, giving home customers up to 250 Mbps downloading, 15 Mbps uploading and 500 GB in monthly usage allowance.
Northwestel CEO, Paul Flaherty, says Northerners deserve the highest quality internet possible.
“We see a growing number of Northerners who want faster speeds and families who have multiple devices connected in their homes,” says Flaherty. “The new Internet 250 will allow Northerners to enjoy a richer online media experience with our faster speeds and highest data cap yet.”
Businesses will also see a new package, with the release of Internet 300. Business owners will now be able to work faster, with upload speeds of 20 Mbps – a speed that Northwestel says is more than 3x faster than before.
Internet 250 is now available at $239.95 per month. Bundles will still be available, helping residents save up to $30.
