Murder suspects in Hay River police custody

A number of suspects are in Hay River RCMP custody in connection to a possible homicide.

The body of a deceased man was discovered on December 28th.

He was found in a vehicle on the side of an access road in the Sandy Creek area.

Police have not released the identity of the victim. The RCMP say due to the sensitivity of the investigation, no further information on the victim, nor the suspects, will be released at this time.

The territorial government says that some health services in the Yellowknife region will operate at reduced hours this Friday. The change in scheduled hours observes the half-day civic holiday on March 20 in recognition of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation’s annual Spring Carnival.
