Lutselk’e water boil advisory lifted

The water in Lutselk’e is now safe to use again.

The Chief Environmental Health Officer is advising all residents in Lutselk’e that the precautionary Boil Water Advisory has been lifted.

The Department of Health and Social Services says the Advisory was in effect due to possible delivery of unchlorinated water to residents in the community.

On January 16, 2018, water samples were taken in Lutselk’e. The Department of H&SS says the water supply is now “receiving adequate chlorination and bacterial water samples taken show no presence of bacteria in the treated water.

Chief Public Health Officer for the NWT Dr. Andre Corriveau provided the information via Twitter.

It is advised that residents clean their water tanks annually.
