YK RCMP execute 5 D’s of Dodgeball – still fall short

The Yellowknife RCMP had quite the Family Fun Night thanks to some dodgeballs.

RCMP members laced up their sneakers to attend the event held at the Fieldhouse on Thursday. The crew of trained and fit officers had one challenge: children.

The score was close but all the dodging, dipping, ducking, diving, and more dodging couldn’t save the RCMP members, as they fell short against the youngsters.

Cst. Heather Cosenzo said the event allows for children and families to get to know the officers in the city.

The Yellowknife RCMP are always looking for ways to be involved in the community and this is a great example of a fun way we can approach community policing. It allows children, and their families, to get to know us as police officers and to see that one of our primary functions is to help people and keep them safe.
