Construction on Franklin anticipated to be complete by mid September

Starting today, Franklin Avenue will be closed between Reservoir Road and Forrest Drive.

Traffic will be detoured via Reservoir Road while the city installs several service upgrades to the road, including a 350 metre section of sewer line upgrade, bus turnouts and street light upgrades.

There will be no access to Franklin from Gitzel Street.

The current detour on Franklin Ave. is anticipated to last three to four weeks, at which point Franklin will be at least partially open to traffic, according to city officials.

Construction is anticipated to be complete by mid September.
