City announces new hires

The city of Yellowknife announced it will be adding two new members to its administration in a press release.

Chris Greencorn will be re-assuming the position of Director of Public Works and Engineering starting July 9, 2018.  Greencorn worked for the City of Yellowknife’s Department of Public Works from 2004-2017, including three years as the director of the department.

Eric Bussey will be joining the city as Director of Public Safety starting July 23, 2018.  For almost 25 years, Bussey worked as the Director of Emergency Management for the Government of the Northwest Territories, where he managed major operations in responding to and recovering from disasters. In that position, he was also responsible for the NWT Fire Protection Program and the Office of the Fire Marshal.

“I’m looking forward to having these two highly skilled Yellowknifers join our senior management team,” said City Administrator Sheila Bassi-Kellett.

“Given their knowledge and experience, I believe Eric and Chris will contribute significantly to their respective areas and in turn will benefit our community overall,” said Bassi-Kellett.
