Police prepping for plane pull
The 2018 Law Enforcement Torch Run Airplane Pull Challenge runs September 15th at the Yellowknife Airport, Special Olympics NWT
Local law enforcement will be trying to pull an airplane this weekend. It’s all to raise awareness for Special Olympics NWT through the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Every year, teams of 10 Yellowknife RCMP officers and members of the public try their hand at pulling a 66,000-pound plane 25 feet in the fastest time. It will happen at the RCMP/DND hangar near the main terminal at the airport on September 15th, with registration starting at 11:30 a.m.
People are also encouraged to cheer participants on. The pull will start at noon.
Pledges are being collected online. This year’s goal is to raise $15,000.
