Fort Good Hope RCMP investigating after assault

Fort Good Hope RCMP are investigating after an incident this weekend.

Just before midnight on Saturday, Fort Good Hope RCMP received multiple reports of an assault at a home.

Two adults, one man and one woman, were found injured outside of the home and were transported to the medical clinic. They were later medi-vaced to Yellowknife with what were described as serious injuries. They have since been sent to Edmonton for further treatment.

During the investigation, it was revealed two skidoos had been set on fire and two axes were found in the yard beside the residence.

48-year-old Christopher Shae has been arrested and charged with three counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose and one count of failure to comply with probation.

The investigation is continuing.
