Two Yellowknife committees looking for members

Do you want to help the city, but didn’t want to be a part of city council? Two City of Yellowknife committees are looking to fill seats.

 

The City of Yellowknife Heritage Committee is the first of the two committees. According to the city, the Heritage Committee is a body created to help conserve, protect and celebrate the heritage of Yellowknife for the benefit of present and future residents. The City is welcoming all applicants but those with a strong knowledge of Yellowknife history are particularly encouraged to apply. For more information on the position, please contact the City at 920-5672. The deadline for applications is Friday, November 9, 2018.

 

The second committee is the Audit Committee. According to the city, the Audit Committee makes recommendations to City Council in all matters pertaining to the financial reporting process. The Audit Committee meets on a quarterly basis and members will be paid an honourarium. For further information, please contact the City’s Corporate Services Department at 920-5685. The deadline for receipt of application is Friday, November 9, 2018.
