December 10th sees Yellowknife hit record temperatures

Weather records were set in Yellowknife this past week. Yesterday, December 10th at around 5 a.m. the weather went up to -2 °C which is a record for that day.

It has been an unusually warm start to December and that will continue throughout the upcoming winter months said weather Channel Meteorologist Brad Rousseau.

“Winter as a whole is expected to run around the same if not a little warmer. This winter might not be as harsh as usual. The latter half of winter will be slightly milder and will trend a little warmer than usual for winter.”

This record-setting day is in line with the Weather Channel 2019 Winter Forecast that said warmer temperatures were expected to dominate much of the region during the winter.
