An online fundraiser for the family of Yellowknife house fire victim Andrew Debogorski has surpassed it’s $25,000 goal within three days of its launch. It is currently sitting over $27,000.
Andrew, 32, who lived with ALS since mid-2017, passed away in a fire at his 51A Avenue home on Friday, December 28th.
A GoFundMe page was created by Curtis Debogorski to support his brother’s wife Myriam and her young family to prepare for Andrew’s funeral and their interim needs of food, clothing and daily living.
“His wife, Myriam and young children Nyah and Miroslav are now preparing to say goodbye to Andrew while dealing with the loss of their home,” read the page’s description.
An update was posted on the page 24 hours after the GoFundMe page opened, that the incredible generosity of those who have helped has raised over $14,000, well over half way to the goal of $25,000.
The page also thanks on behalf of the Debogorski family all those who have contributed through prayers, well wishes and support through this difficult time.
