“Farley Mowat’s been a figure in book selling as long as I’ve had my book store which is over 30 years so it’s a real passing of an era almost to hear that he’s died. He’s always been controversial in the North, he’s been a landmark in Canadian publishing and his stories are still well-loved and continue to sell well in the store.”

The controversy surrounded writing that Mowat claimed was fact, but later admitted was fiction.

Nonetheless, accolades are pouring in from around the world.
