Some randomly selected Yellowknife households will find a letter from the government dropped off at their door. The Northwest Territories Bureau of Statistics has begun their 2019 NWT Community Survey in Yellowknife. This survey is conducted in every community in the Northwest Territories.

According to the website for the NWT Bureau of Statistics, the results “provide the bureau with community-level information on housing conditions, employment, education and participation in traditional activities.”

The survey can be completed either online or in person by the households selected. In Yellowknife, Hay River, Fort Smith and Inuvik, the participants are selected at random. For all other communities they will interview participants in person. The process runs from January to March.

For anyone with questions, you can contact the bureau toll-free at 1-888-STATSNT.
