$50,000 was donated by the Yellowknife Elks Lodge #314 to the Stanton Territorial Hospital Foundation for additional Audiology equipment for the hospital.
Exalted Ruler of the Yellowknife Elks Lodge #314 Nicole Bonnell, says that their volunteers work hard to generate funds to contribute to the betterment of the community and that they are thrilled to assist Stanton Territorial Hospital with their audiology equipment needs.
“This donation supports our local goals while also aligning with the mandate of the Elks of Canada to provide funding for programs that address the needs of children with hearing and speech disorders.”
The money will go toward a second mini sound-booth and equipment used by specialists to increase and enhance patient services. The booth will be operational as soon as the summer of 2019.
She adds that the lodge’s volunteers and supporters are their biggest asset and without them, donations like this wouldn’t be possible.
“Being able to see the results of our hard work right here at home is a point of pride to our volunteers who are working every day to support our community and territory.”
