GNWT to host draw for campsite permits

You could have your hands on a campsite permit thanks to a draw by the GNWT. Ninety permits are up for grabs on Sunday, April 7th at the NWT Parks Extended Stay Draw for the North Slave Region. There are 80 half-season sites and 10 full season sites available in the draw. The permits will be drawn in a lottery-type process. The following permits will be in the draw;

  • 20 permits at Prelude Lake Territorial Park: May 15 – July 15 ($525 GST inc.)
  • 20 permits at Prelude Lake Territorial Park: July 15 – Sept 15 ($525 GST inc.)
  • 20 permits at Reid Lake Territorial Park: May 15 – July 15 ($525 GST inc.)
  • 20 permits at Reid Lake Territorial Park: July 15 – Sept 15 ($525 GST inc.)
  • 10 permits at Reid Lake Territorial Park: May 15 – Sept 15 ($525×2 GST inc.)

GNWT asks for you to attend in person if possible. If not, make sure the person attending for you has your registration, plate number and payment. Registration starts at 12pm, with the draw starting at around 1:30 p.m. The draw will be taking place at J.H. Sissions School Gym. You must bring a certified cheque or money order totalling the amount of your desired site. Cheques should be made out to the Government of the Northwest Territories. Debit cards, credit cards and cash will not be accepted. Your money will be refunded to you if you do not win.
