Snowmobilers and pedestrians should avoid venturing out on the ice at Frame Lake near the Co-op underpass.

The ice is thin in this area, the City of Yellowknife warns Wednesday, adding residents should be cautious on all areas of the lake.

“Remember that as temperatures increase ice will begin to weaken,” the city states. “Signs of weak ice include water covering the ice and a change in ice colour from clear to milky. Areas around protruding rocks or objects should also be avoided.”
