WSCC president and CEO steps down, interim CEO named

Dave Grundy will be stepping down as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission as of May 3rd.

Grundy joined the WSCC in 2002, following a 30-year career in the RCMP. He was appointed by the WSCC’s Governance Council and assumed the duties of President and CEO on July 25th, 2011.

On behalf of WSCC’s Governance Council, Chairperson Dave Tucker said that Dave has shown extraordinary leadership, positivity and service to the WSCC over the last 17 years.

“I know I’m not alone in thanking Dave and recognizing his many contributions, including embodying our organizational values of respect, integrity and openness and providing a strong foundation for future growth.”

Grundy noted that his decision to step down was not an easy one but the timing is right for the organization, for him, and for his family.

“The people I’ve worked with over the years at the WSCC will always be an inspiration to me. I’m grateful and honored to have these memories and very proud of the progress we’ve made towards creating and maintaining safe workplaces in the North.”

Kim Collins-Riffel will be the interim CEO while the recruitment process is being undertaken.
