Yanik D’Aigle is Conservatives’ NWT candidate

Yellowknife banker Yanik D’Aigle is the Conservative Party of Canada’s candidate for the Northwest Territories.

“The next federal election is in just a few short months. My spouse Tammy and I know what the difficulties and challenges of running a household in the North through raising our four children here,” he states. “I’m going to work hard every day to earn Northerners’ confidence and support by showing how an Andrew Scheer Conservative government will help them not just get by, but get ahead.”

D’Aigle put his name forward during the nomination period which closed May 16th, with no other nominees coming forward D’Aigle was acclaimed. A close to seven-year-resident of the NWT and a Yellowknife banker, D’Aigle has served in a leadership capacity for several organizations including Yellowknife Rotary Club and both the NWT and Yellowknife chambers of commerce.

So far three NWT candidates have been announced for the fall 2019 federal election. Incumbent Michael McLeod will run for the Liberal Party of Canada, D’Aigle with the Conservative Party of Canada and as reported by Cabin Radio Luke Quinlan is the candidate for Maxime Bernier’s People’s Party of Canada. The NDP and Green Party of Canada have yet to announce official candidates.
