Yk Primary Care Clinic open to walk-ins starting July 2nd

Starting July 2nd, you will be able to walk-in to Yellowknife’s Primary Care Clinic without an appointment.

The clinic, at 4915 48 St., will be open to walk-ins Monday to Saturday. The NWT’s health authority says adding walk-ins will increase the number of appointments available and allow residents to access care ‘in a way that is convenient for them.’

Primary Care Clinic hours:
Opening hours: 8:05 a.m. – 8 p.m. (Mon-Fri), 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Sat)
Walk-ins: 8:05 a.m. – noon, 4:30 – 8 p.m. (Mon-Fri), 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Sat)

The clinic already allows residents to book same-day appointments on a first-come, first-serve basis. This option will continue, at the primary care clinic and at the Frame Lake Community Health Clinic, for people who need to get access to care quickly but also need to plan when they will be seen. To request a same-day appointment, call the clinic (867-767-9125) before 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The addition of walk-in services is part of the Primary Health Care Reform initiative, it is the first project implemented under this initiative.
