Man charged for stealing perfume and hair products in mischief spree

A Yellowknife man has been charged by Yellowknife RCMP after he went on a mischief spree and stole perfumes and hair products as well as attempting to steal meat.
Yellowknife police received a report on Saturday, July 6th of a man trying to steal meat in a local store. This lead to them opening a file and starting an investigation.
On Monday, July 8th police received a report of assault and theft at another local business. No one got injured and the suspect fled with perfume.
On Wednesday, July 10th another call came from the same business regarding a suspect threatening the employees with a canister containing an unknown product. The suspect got his hands on a large number of perfumes. No one sustained injuries during the alleged incident.
A day later, on Thursday, June 11th the same suspect was in possession of stolen hair products which were related to a break and enter at a hair salon.
Yellowknife police found and arrested the 50-year-old man and charged him with:
- Two counts of theft under $5000
- Assault with weapon and Theft
- Robbery with an offensive weapon
- Possession of property obtained by crime
