RCMP have an active investigation into an emergency signal they received from an area near Tulita at around 7:45 a.m. on August 15th.
The signal came from an emergency communications device located south of Tulita which is only reachable by water or air.
Police have engaged a helicopter company to assist and the GNWT Dept of Environment and Natural Resources is also assisting as there is a possibility wildlife may have been involved, or in the area.
As this is an ongoing situation, there are no additional details at this time. An update will be provided when available.
