The Sponsor a Family Program is a way in which companies, organizations, families and individuals within the community can support a local family in need at Christmastime. By sponsoring a family, the sponsor provides a high-priority family with Christmas gifts and food for a special holiday meal.

“The holidays are a very stressful time for low-income families and buying presents is just not an option for many of our clients. Parents must often choose basic necessities over buying gifts for their children or having a special meal over the holidays,” Lyda Fuller, Executive Director of YWCA NWT said. “Our annual gift and grocery drive help show families they are supported and alleviates some of that financial burden. We couldn’t do it without the amazing support of our local community.”
To make sponsorship easier and help answer questions regarding how much sponsors should budget, YWCA NWT created ‘Gift Guidelines’, a helpful infographic that helps determine what family size is within a sponsor’s budget.
Once the YWCA knows the size of the family you wish to sponsor, you will be matched with a family and will be provided with the details regarding their ages and Christmas wishes (if provided by family).

The YWCA NWT is asking those interested to register by December 6 by contacting email@example.com.
