Yellowknife RCMP investigate robbery, seek public assistance

The Yellowknife RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance to identify and locate a suspect in a robbery.

At approximately 11:57 p.m., on Friday, December 6th, Yellowknife RCMP responded to a call for service at Shell gas station on Range Lake Road. A lone man wearing a black balaclava face mask walked into the gas station and demanded money from the cashier. The cashier complied and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money southbound on Range Lake Road.

The RCMP Forensic Identification Services and Police Dog Services attended the scene and are assisting with the investigation.

The RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect. At the time of the incident, just before midnight, there may have been customers outside the gas station or in the neighbouring businesses that may have observed the incident or recognize the suspect.

The suspect is described as a man, approximately 6’ tall, thin build, wearing a black/grey camo jacket, grey sweat pants with a black strip, black shoes and a pair of bright yellow gloves.
