Yellowknife, NWT – The N.W.T Chief Coroner and the R.C.M.P continue to investigate the tragic death of a two-year-old boy in Yellowknife over the weekend.
In a news release, the Mounties say the boy was run over by a pick-up truck just after 2:00 Saturday afternoon on a business property in Kam Lake.
Police say the boy was taken to Stanton Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
They aren’t releasing his name but a media report identifies him as Sana’a Michael Christensen-Blondin.
Reports say there is no reason to suspect impaired or distracted driving.
R.C.M.P say no charges are expected.
